Oh No!

Despite the many many ang paos that I collected from the past one week of Chinese New Year, I have to say that I am sad because I have been losing my precious ang pao money due to the tempting gambling!

Sigh.

Play blackjack, lose money. Play mah-jong, also lose money!

ARGH! SUAY! How can I go on like that?! Tsk tsk tsk. Nevermind, CNY only once a year. I shall not get overly disheartened by the past 7 lousy days of unluckiness.

I’m just going to gamble more and win back double of what I lost! I WILL(and I must) win!

Besides losing money, I’m starting to feel somewhat sickly… Most likely due by the large amount of junk I have been consuming…

I’M SO IN LOVE WITH ALL THE BAK-KWAS!!!

All my seventeen years of my bubbly(however not too bubbly sometimes) life I didn’t realise that the slices of BBQ pork is so nice! Also there’s that tiny spring-roll looking thing that has prawn fillings inside? That one also super nice!

Plus, all the chocolates, delicious dinners, and the enticing cans of soft drinks that always show up right in front of me when I open the fridge door…

I’m going to become FAT!

Which is really bad. Hey, fat and bad actually rhymes…

Ok ok whatever! Back to CNY ya’ll.

Shall start out with the family reunion dinner I had on the previous Wednesday.

I’m actually quite disappointed with this year’s reunion dinner because there’s no steamboat!

I was eagerly looking forward to a steamboat dinner but it turns out with only some typical(but nice) reunion dishes that my mother readily rustled up.

Such as, fish. Fish is like a compulsory dish because “nian nian you yu”, right?(Oh my, even fish and dish rhymes!)

I put in a little effort for the dinner too. While my elder sister was miserably slicing the carrots, radish, and whatever other vegetables for the Yu Sheng(yes she sliced them into the super thin slices), I took the carrot head and did this…

Nice not?!

Ok lah I know the rose not very well done, but hey… at least I did something. It’s pretty good for an unprofessional already ok…

”Oh my! I’m going to get all those crispy things!”

”Hehe! Mine mine!”

”Yes! Got it! Mwahahaha!”

And I’ve came to the end of my entry. Just kidding.

The next morning, which is also known as “Chu Yi”(first day of CNY), my parents barged into the room early in the morning to wake my siblings and I all up.

You know, sometimes no matter how tired you may be, you still got to wake up because it’s the first day of CNY, which is also the day to collect to most red packets! Mwahahaha…

My elder sister and I. Erm, and my dad hiding eerily behind us.

Even Liutong is excited!

Each year, before we set off to visit our relatives on CNY, my family would gather together for a family portrait. This year, we had like, about 4 attempts before it was finally successful…

Attempt 1:

As you can see, not everyone is very ready…

Attempt 2:

I wasn’t too ready. Worst, someone’s missing…

Attempt 3:

Erm… ok, still not too ready yet.

The Final Attempt:

Actually we didn’t have to worry cause at my grandparents’ place, we took even more family photos. With all my other relatives!

My family is much bigger than this. There are so many people missing in here!

All smiles.

My elder sister with two of my cousins, Chunchun and Ernie Put Put. LOL!

Awww, their nicknames are so reminiscing. I remember the times when we would sneaked out through the backdoor of my grandparents’ place, and passing through this “secret passage way” which is simply a long patch of grass full of bugs, and finally reaching where we used to call “MS”.

MS is basically just a huge canal that you’ll get to see blue kingfishers, white egrets, some other beautiful birds and lots of mudskippers. Thus the initials M and S.

Ahem, before I get too deep into our childhood, let’s get back to CNY. Ha!

More pictures!

Mum, Eileen Kim and I.

More lau-ing of yu shengs.

On the third day of CNY, Deidrea, Ah Jon, Sheryl and I decided to meet up and visit Krinz house.

Didn’t stay for long because his house has no cards(besides UNO… I can’t believe it…). We went to Gloria’s house next to bai-nian and also to see her cute little newborn niece.

She’s happy that we came.

Gong Xi Fa Cai!

Hong Baos Na Lai!

Ha! That’s like the only CNY phrases I know!

I now regret going to Gloria’s house that day, because I lost like 15 bucks while playing blackjack there! Ok lah 15 bucks may not be a lot but it’s roughly two average ang paos ok…

The next location was my place where we continued gambling with both blackjack and mah-jong, causing me to lose another 15 bucks or so.

4 average ang paos already lo!

Sigh, I’m so sad I lost 30 bucks in a single day. How suay can I get…

On a happier note, today is Valentine’s Day! Actually it’s not a very happy subject either. No celebration, no romantic dinners or whatsoever, received a small gift though. ):

Happy Valentine’s Day to all of ya’ll!

I spent today buying all the BBQ supplies with my classmates for tomorrow’s class BBQ. Almost $200 worth of food and equipments!

I had to carry like, 4kg of frozen chicken wings home to marinate. Not mentioning having to carry other things like that aluminium foil and trays and bottles of sauces!

Thus we logically took a taxi home.

I had to grumble! Nowadays the taxi fare is so fucking expensive! Ugh, I shall never take a cab unless I don’t have an other option(or maybe if someone else is paying for the fare lah)!

Ok I shall end this entry here. Before I go, I have one last random picture to share.

My elder sister with her friend’s baby.

That baby is super chubby and cute! And can smile for the camera some more! And notice how the baby’s eyes have a bluish hue? I didn’t Photoshop it ok!

Alright, ok wait, one final thing. Happy Belated Birthday to Gloria Tay whose birthday falls on the tenth! Ok I know today’s the 14th already… but heck.

Ok, got to go marinate the four kilograms of chicken wings!

It’s Febulous!

Great!

It’s that month of the brand new year again. February! And February is Febulous! Ha! Ok, it’s the cheesiest entry title I ever came out with.

I tell you why I like February. Feb is really great because, firstly, Chinese New Year falls on it!

And come on, despite having to tackle old, repetitive and boring questions from nosy relatives(that never seem to come out with better questions), what’s there not to love about CNY?!

Ang paos, new clothes, super lots of delicious goodies, steamboat(that usually includes abalone, oh my God I can’t wait!), reunion dinners, gambling sessions(I better win as much as possible this year, I don’t give a damn!), and visiting friends’ place!

Erm, visiting friends’ place is only the nice term for it, the actual motive of your - suddenly interested in your house - friends is just to fill their pockets with your kind and generous parents’ ang paos. Agree?

Another reason to love February is because, a lot of my friends’ birthday is on this month(all the Aquarius and Pisces)! Which also means, more birthday celebrations, thus more fun outing, more cakes, and more surprises. Mwahahaha…

Gloria, Krinz and Coewe are going to combine and celebrate their birthday together later this month. It better be a good one!

I hope they open chalet or something. Or at least BBQ!

Talking about BBQ, my class has organized a class BBQ on the 15th! It’s confirmed because I went to book for the BBQ pit with Alice at the AXS machine today! HOW EXCITING!

It’s only like 10 days from now, and also a day after Valentine’s Day…

To talk about Valentine’s Day makes me sad because I’m going to spend another lonely Valentine’s Day this year. ):

Ok that’s so whatever…

My fucking computer keeps hanging half way through and it’s terribly infuriating. I feel like dropping it down my window and smashing it into a million pieces.

It’s actually doing pretty well if I do not log onto MSN messenger, but wait, how can I ever not log into MSN?!

MSN is like essential to someone like me ok. Solely because, I don’t have much other uses of the computer besides Internet Explorer… And maybe Photoshop too.

You notice how random my topics of this entry are?

Because I’m totally clueless about what else to blog(yet I have an strong urge to post, maybe due by the long absence of updates. Or maybe, I’m just blogging for you to know that I’m alive)!

Thus I’m blogging about any and everything that come upon my brilliant and creative mind. Ha!

And sadly for you, I don’t have any photos to upload today.

Why do blog readers like pictures so much anyway…? Reading is equally as good as viewing pictures only what…

Man, my mum’s dad, who makes him my grandpa, will be moving into my house and room tomorrow night until my other relatives fly back from their CNY trip to Thailand.

It’s not that I’m unhappy cause he’s gonna be with us but… with him in my room also means that I won’t be able to turn the music or computer on till late night. Ah well… I’ve already came out with a brilliant plan to use my elder sister’s laptop for the time being. Hehe.

Anyway, one of my Chinese New Year Resolution(I know people don’t usually make resolutions for CNY, but, well…) is to update my blog more often!

I cannot just continue to laze around like this because laziness brings me only nothing. Ha! I’m so full of crap.

Before I leave, Happy 18th Birthday to Silas whose birthday falls on tomorrow! The first February birthday! Believe me, there’s more “happy birthdays” to come.

With that, I’ll end here snappily. Watch this space for the next update which is probably gonna be all about CNY!

Gong Xi Fa Cai ya’ll!
